KISII, KENYA — On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, a delegation from St. Paul’s University (SPU), led by Corporate Affairs Manager Mr. Michael Mungai, delivered a feature presentation during the Kenya Anglican Youth Organization (KAYO) Conference 2026 at Kisii High School. The national gathering brought together over 2,000 young people representing all dioceses of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) for a time dedicated to worship, fellowship, learning, and reflection.
Mindful Transformation in a Digital Age
Centered on the theme “A wholesome youth transforming the environment,” the event officially opened with an inspiring address by His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Jackson Ole Sapit, Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya and Chair of the St. Paul’s University Council.
Drawing inspiration from Romans 12:1–2, Archbishop Ole Sapit challenged participants to recognize that outward environmental stewardship begins with internal transformation.
"I encourage the youth to be mindful of how they use their phones, protect their minds, and cultivate habits that promote wholesome living." — His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Jackson Ole Sapit
Key highlights from Wednesday's opening charge included:
-
Internal Renewal First: True environmental stewardship starts when God transforms the minds and hearts of young people.
-
Physical & Digital Care: Responsibility extends beyond nature to include digital spaces—specifically phone usage and media consumption habits.
-
Wholesome Habits: Young people were encouraged to cultivate intentional lifestyle choices that safeguard their spiritual and mental well-being.
