SPU's Erasmus Team Represent the University in Vigo, Spain

The St. Paul's University (SPU) Erasmus team had a week-long stay in Vigo, Spain; one of the offerings in the exchange programme courtesy of the European Union. The team comprising of members of the Board of Management and Senate,

gained invaluable insight on strengthening the education system and training the youth. The seven include Mr. Kennedy Waweru - Ag. Principal Nairobi Campus, Dr. Evason Karanja - ICT Director, Dr. Suleiman Mwangi - Dean School of Education and Social Sciences, Dr. Julius Kahuthia - Dean School of Business and Leadership Studies, Dr. Petronila Otuya - Head of the Department of Social Sciences, Dr. Susan Mwangi - Head of the Department of Communication Studies, and Dr. Wanjiku Ng'ang'a - Head of Department of Business Studies.

One of the institutions the team visited during the stay was I.E.S. de TEIS Institute of Technology in Vigo, Spain on 2nd June 2023 for a knowledge sharing session. The institution is a vocational training institution in the fields of Computer Science (Coding and System administration) and Personal Image (Aesthetics, hairdressing).

The engagements between SPU's team and their colleagues culminated in a gala dinner on Wednesday 31 st May 2023. The participants had a chance to sample various cuisines, music and exchange pleasantries. Dr. Petronilla Otuya led the participants in dancing to a popular Luhya Folk song, 'Shombo Maalumu' while the SPU team presented gifs to the hosts, courtesy of the Corporate Affairs Department. Dr. Suleiman also showcased his prowess in playing a percussion instrument during presentation of a Galatian folk song during the colorful event.
