Security

  • Security is the responsibility of every member of the University Community, and everyone should ensure that all reasonable precautions are taken at all times.
  • No one is allowed to endanger the security of the University in any way.
  • Any unknown person should courteously be challenged to leave the compound, if they have no adequate explanation for their presence.
  • When any student room or staff house is unoccupied over night or for a longer period, all windows and outside doors must be shut and locked, and all curtains drawn so that no one can inspect or easily remove any contents from the outside.
  • The Securicor alarm bell may be pressed only in the event of a raid and not for any other purpose. Improper use of this facility will result in disciplinary procedures.
  • In the case of emergencies, students must observe the directions given by the members of staff.
  • It is the responsibility of the guards to ensure that the back gate is kept locked except at times when the staff children are going to and from school. During the weekends it must be kept locked at all times.
  • When any security light is not working, the Administrative Officer or the electrician should be informed.
  • Any security concern should be reported to the Administrative Officer.
