Conference Attendance and Presentations
St. Paul's lecturers regularly attend and make presentations at national, regional, and global conferences. Some of the major highlights are as follows:
In June 2008, the Rev. C. B. Peter attended an Eastern and Southern African Regional Consultation on Climate Change and Water at the All Africa Conference of Churches(AACC), Nairobi, where he also presented a paper entitled "Climate Change and the Church's Response."
In June 2008, Prof. Esther Mombo, the Rev. Prof Joseph Galgalo, the Rev. Dr. Sammy Githuku, the Rev. Dr. John Ndung'u Ikenye and the Rev. C. B. Peter attended a regional African Writers Workshop on Disability under the auspices of Ecumenical Disability Africa Network (EDAN) at Mombasa, where each presented a paper. These papers are being published in a peer-reviewed volume incorporating other papers at the workshop. The publication is meant to serve as a core textbook on disability studies in universities and theological institutions across the African continent.
In June 2008, the Rev. Dr. Emily Onyango attended the GAFCON meeting in Jerusalem.
In July 2008, Prof. Esther Mombo attended the Pre-Lambeth meetings and Prof Joseph Galgalo attended the Lambeth Conference in England. Prof. Mombo presented a paper on "Leadership in the Church."
13th - 25th Oct 2008, Rev. Dr. Kabiro wa Gatumu attended an international research seminar and consultation on Primal religion as substructure of Christianity at Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology, Mission and Culture, Akropong-Akuapem, Ghana, and presented a paper titled, Primal Resources for Appropriating the Bible: A Paradigm Shift for Biblical Hermeneutics? , which is to appear in the December 2008 issue of the Journal of African Christian Thought.
26th -28th May 2009, Rev. Dr. Kabiro wa Gatumu attended the Edinburgh 2010 Eastern Africa Conference at the Carmelite Centre, Karen, Nairobi and presented a paper titled Recalling Edinburgh 1910 Visa -vis Bible Study: Configuring Contextual Bible Study as A Missiological Tool for Community Transformation
In 2007 an earlier published paper by C. B. Peter, "The Anti Monarchic Traditions in the Old Testament and the Question of Diakonia" (1982) was included in a French database INISTCNRS. Another, even earlier published paper by C. B. Peter, "In Defense of Existence: A Comparison between Ecclesiastes and Albert Camus" (1980) has already been widely cited in the following international publications: N. Karl Haden, &Qoheleth and the Problem of Alienation" (Christian Scholars Review, 1987), Eric S. Christianson, "Qoheleth and the Existential Legacy of the Holocaust" Heythrop Journal, XXXVIII, 1997), Eric S.
