Speakers at the colorful ceremony held at the main campus in Limuru, heaped praises on the Archbishop who has been lauded by many as a man of wisdom and valor. Present during the ceremony was the University Chancellor; Dr. Rev. Sam Kobia who hailed the outgoing Archbishop for his immense contribution to the growth of the university and the country. “His leadership skills are unmatched and his input in topical issues in the country has been of significance,” he said.
Speaking to the congregation, the outgoing Archbishop extolled the community for the easy time they gave him during his reign and vowed to continue his support for the university. He also thanked them for helping him achieve his tasks and for the encouragements and support. “St. Paul’s has been a home for me and I am truly grateful to God for the opportunity to serve here,” he said.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Galgalo praised the outgoing Archbishop for his great leadership and the support he gave him during his reign and for selflessly serving the university.
The Most Rev. Dr. Wabukala will be remembered for his passionate and selfless embrace of service not only to the university but to the country as a whole.
The university has immensely benefited from his seasoned wisdom and during his time at the helm it has improved greatly on its infrastructure, human resource capacity, ICT, library resources, programs and students’ enrollment.
