SPU Introduces three Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programmes

So far over 40 students are enrolled in the programmes which are aimed at producing academics as well as experts in the three fields.

The Doctor of Philosophy in Theology course provides advanced studies in the main disciplines of theology, including biblical studies (Old Testament and New Testament), history, systematic theology, and Christian Mission. The programme will be delivered in a combination of taught courses and independent research. In the first year, all the students will be required to study eight compulsory foundational units.

The Doctor of Philosophy in Development Studies course provides advanced studies in the main disciplines of Development Studies, including Development Economics, Development Sociology, Disaster Management, Organizational development, Child Youth and Development, Conflict Management, and Sustainable Development. The programme will be delivered in a combination of taught courses and independent research. In the first year, all the students will be required to study eight compulsory foundational units.

The Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration and Management course provides advanced studies in the main disciplines of business, including Entrepreneurship development, Finance, Human capital Management, Leadership and management international business management, Marketing, project management, procurement and supply, chain management and strategic management. The programme will be delivered in a combination of taught courses and independent research. In the first year, all the students will be required to study ten compulsory foundational units.

The programmes shall consist of course work, examinations and dissertations.
